Ceftriaxone Injection is antibiotic formulation which is injected via intramuscular or intravenous route. It is indicated for the treatment of meningitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and urinary tract infections. This injection is highly effective in nature and tends to work by blocking the synthesis of peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell wall which causes their death. It belongs to the third-generation cephalosporin class of drugs and shows elimination half life of 5.8 to 8.7 hours.
